The Rauschenbusch Center's clothing closet opens in mid-November and continues to operate until early April, every Tuesday between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. We provide men and women with good new and used winter clothing, coats, sweaters, shirts, gloves, etc. When the Clothing Closet ceases operation in early April, volunteers begin preparations for the opening of the toiletries closet, which open in early June. The toiletries are given away every Tuesday between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. Kits contain basic body-care items such as a washcloth and soap, a toothbrush and toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, razors and shaving cream. In order to keep track of how many people we service and how often they visit, we require that individuals have some form of identification (except in cases of visible distress). |
